Attendance Policies

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

We want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of student attendance.  Getting into the habit of daily attendance is more important than ever. It helps to reduce stress, makes it easier to connect with friends and teachers, and it supports learning.

Did you know…

If your student misses only 2 days of school per month in TK/K, by 3rd grade they have a less than 20% chance of being able to read at grade level?

Students who only miss 2 days of school per month miss nearly one year of school before they start high school?

Students who miss 4 days per month, miss over three years of school by the time they graduate?

Imagine how stressful it must be for your student to start 3rd grade behind in reading and math…and worse yet, start middle school or high school missing 1-2 years of education.  We want to set our students up for success! Let’s do this together!

Attendance Matters- EVERYDAY Matters!

Exeter Unified supports student attendance through school interventions, school site team support, and by implementing the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) process.  Let’s work together to keep our schools safe and positive and our students present and engaged.  If you have any questions or would like support, please contact your site administrator.

Thank you,
